Keune Bond Fusion

We like our coffee

the way we like our hair

STRONG

Strengthen and empower coloured hair continuously.
BOND FUSION by Keune.

As colourists, we always go the extra mile to achieve the best results, without compromising on the integrity of our client's hair.

Introducing, Bond Fusion – a premium bond booster service.
•    Treat and condition coloured hair with 3 easy steps
•    Hair is twice as strong, compared to use without Bond Fusion.
•    Suitable for use in colour, lightening, perm and straightening services, or as a stand-alone anti-damage treatment.

HOW IT WORKS

Normally, chemical processes like coloring or forming treatments break down disulphide bonds that are essential for healthy hair. But that’s where Bond Fusion comes in, repairing and rebuilding broken bonds, even creating new ones. It also protects the inner structure of each strand. Now, salon professionals can transform any hair into any color (yes, even platinum blonde!) while keeping hair strong and conditioned. Lastly, Bond Fusion is compatible with all hair types – Caucasian, Asian, African, previously colored or chemically processed, and virgin.

SIMPLY BETTER

We promise that Bond Fusion is better than any other bond boosting treatment, leaving hair up to five times more conditioned after five washes. Tresses are left twice as strong compared to chemically processed hair without Bond Fusion. After bleaching, hair is twice as combable compared to the key competitor, and there is 43% less hair breakage. And the processing time? That remains the same. Bond Fusion can be used with any known salon chemical service, irrespective of type or brand, and on its own as a damage-repairing treatment.

EASY-PEASY

Working with Bond Fusion is easy. There are three steps: Build, Enhance, and Recharge. In Phase 1, you add the Bond Builder to the color or lifting formula. It’ll repair broken bonds and create new ones while protecting the hair. In Phase 2, apply the Bond Enhancer, a deeply nourishing, restorative treatment that’ll strengthen the newly-created bonds, sealing strands to ensure long-lasting conditioning. Finally, Phase 3, the Bond Recharger, is the perfect home maintenance product that prolongs the effect of your Bond Fusion treatment.

2016 Hair Trends

With 2016 fast approaching, we thought we'd have a look at the emerging trends for the coming year.

Buttery Blonde's

After a few years of cool blonde shades popping up all over, warm blondes are making a comeback. Think more buttery beige and sandy blondes with less icy blondes.

Cuivre

Get ready to see this French word, meaning "copper," all over the place as this shimmery shade gets big in 2016. The cuivre trend of intense copper is going to be the most popular shade of red in 2016.

Streaks of Neon

If the all-over neon hair colors of 2015 scared you away from unnatural shades, you're in luck. A strong presence of neon accent pieces will be seen in 2016 on those wishing to express their carefree, fun, and adventurous side.

Pillowy Soft Blondes

Delicate blonde hues are about to get big with blonde hair in 2016 being pastel. These shades will be soft — almost see-through. If you do decide to go ultra-light, be sure to read up on all the care light locks require. The worst thing you can do after bleaching and processing your hair is let it get dry, dull, and scraggly.

Pastel Glamour

Pastel shades are anticipated for 2016.  If unnatural dye colors bring messy hair to mind, just wait until you see all the pretty pink, purple, and blue 'dos styled to perfection.

Dip-Dyed

Another fun way to wear color without committing your whole head, dip-dyed hair looks exactly how it sounds. This playful coloring technique creates the illusion that the hair has simply been dipped in dye. It looks as fun as all over color, but without the hassle of having the grow out or dye over your entire head of hair when you get bored of it.

5 Minutes with Margaret Drew

When did your hairdressing career begin?

"I started my apprenticeship at Myer Coorparoo when I was 15 years old and then opened my first salon, Margaret Ann's Hair Design in Sydney when I was 19 years old.  I owned that until I was 24 and then had time off to have my children.  I started working again several years later managing a salon at Avalon Beach and when my family returned to Brisbane I worked for a chain of salons and oversaw the running of their six businesses.  It was after a period of about seven years that I decided I wanted to have my own salon again.   I wanted free reign to be as creative as I wanted and to have more individual hairstyles - that's when I opened Hare's Hair."

Where was the original Hare's Hair and what year did you open?

"My first Hare's Hair was in Spring Hill and we opened in 1986.  The salon moved locations over the years from Spring Hill to Cleveland, The Myer Centre, 105 Albert Street and then in 2014 we moved to our current location at 109 Albert Street Brisbane.  We will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Hare's Hair next year and this milestone is something I am extremely proud of."

What is your favourite thing about being a Hair Stylist?

"I love having the chance to be creative and I enjoy my client's and how they are all different."

What is the one service that you enjoy doing the most?

"I really like Colour Corrections.  I like how challenging they can be and how much my client's love the end result."

What is your favourite quote?

"This too shall pass."

What are your best haircare tips?

"Have your hair cut every 6 to 8 weeks to prevent split ends and to maintain the  shape of your hairstyle.  Also, when blowdrying, don't forget to dry the roots as well as the ends.  This will give you much more lift and body to your style."

What is the most important thing you have learnt over the span of your career?

"Every hairstyle is a reflection of a person's identity.  Everyone has an individual look and I think a major downside to Social Media is that everyone wants to look like someone else.  People need to think more about themselves and what works for them.  We need to be our own inspiration."

Pro Fiber - New from L'Oreal

Do you want a 'haircure' that cares for your hair like a manicure cares for your hands? Pro Fiber, our first long-lasting recharging haircare programme for damaged hair does just that. It starts in salon and is prolonged at home. Enriched with Aptyl 100 technology, with over seven years of research and with seven patents pending, this is the latest in our haircare portfolio.

The Pro Fiber programme starts exclusively in-salon with our hairdresser’s consultation, who will analyse the level of thickness and damage and then prescribe the perfect one for you. With three ranges designed for different levels of thickness and sensitivity, you can achieve shiny and healthy-looking hair whatever your hair’s texture and level of damage.

Starting in-salon your hairdresser will apply the indulgent Renew treatment which grips to the hair. Your hair instantly feels soft, freshly-cut and intensely shiny-looking, as if renewed!

But Pro Fiber doesn’t end there; at home you continue using the hair care programme with your prescribed shampoo, conditioner or masque.

Use the Re-charge booster every four shampoos as a substitute to your conditioner or masque and recharge the salon resurfacing effect yourself at home for up to 6 weeks revealing long-lasting hair beauty.

Spring Hair Trends 23 Jul

Spring Hair Trends

We love watching the hairstyles on the spring runways of all our favourite designers, and the one thing we've noticed that they've all had in common: serious length.  Everything from slicked back, pulled high and tight or down low and loose, long hair is back.

Here are our favourite trends from the Spring 2015 shows.

Boho Waves

Carefree, barely-there waves cascaded onto sheer dresses, pastels and floral prints at Marchesa, Chloé, Valentino and more for a free-spirited, bohemian moment.

bohowaves

Long Tails

Ponytails went from high and sleek at Oscar de la Renta to looser and lower at Gucci and Jason Wu to practically falling out at Rag & Bone.

Braids & Twists

From twisted rope braids at Donna Karan and cornrowed buns at Giorgio Armani to messy, classic plaits at Michael Kors, there's a braid for every skill level.

Big Buns

At Altuzarra, the buns were shaped into soft hearts, while at Carolina Herrera, models wore graphic, Japanese-inspired sumo knots. Others, like the ones at Edun and Erin Fetherston, were full and classic.

Mixed Materials

Ornate accessories turned ordinary ponytails and buns into works of art at shows like Fendi, where bold leather flowers matched the prints in the collection, and Dolce&Gabbana, which featured models with red roses, carnations and jewels in their hair.

Behind the Scenes with Queensland Brides

Recently Margaret was invited to style the hair for the Winter 2015 Edition of Queensland Brides Magazine.

The heritage-listed surrounds of Brisbane City Hall provided an impressive backdrop, beautifully captured by Milque Photography and Films.  The Brisbane Room with its vaulted ceilings, soaring windows, decorative plasterwork and deco-style pillars guaranteed the images captured were truly stunning.

Margaret and makeup artist Abigael Johnston created this fresh and pretty look with flowing waves and touches of Champagne and pink.

Brides Desire created a number of detailed headpieces to complement the gorgeous  gown which is embellished with lace and pearls and shimmers with a sprinkling of sequins.
